Don Cash Sr. Scholarship Program
Financial assistance for post-secondary education, open to Coalition members, UFCW staff, and their spouses and dependent children.
Applicants must meet every requirement in either Category A or Category B. Coalition Officers and Executive Board members are not eligible.
- UFCW member in good standing, or a UFCW staff employee, as of the application date
- Minority Coalition member in good standing for at least one year, satisfied by April 30 of the scholarship year — become a member
- Enrolled in an accredited, licensed, or professional institution in your field of study
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Spouse or dependent child of a UFCW member or staff who has been a Coalition member in good standing for at least one year — become a member
- Enrolled in an accredited, licensed, or professional institution in your field of study
- Minimum 3.0 GPA

A personal statement on how you have been impacted or influenced by the labor movement.
Choose an accomplishment of Addie L. Wyatt. Write about how it changed the labor movement and provided equity for minority workers, and what it means to you.
The importance of get-out-the-vote work in the labor movement: how voter restriction bills threaten democratic stability, and the contrast between high and low union density states.

- Marriage certificate — spouse applicants
- Birth certificate or letter of guardianship — dependent child applicants
Upload your completed application, required documents, and essay to this page by the August 1 deadline. The Scholarship Committee reviews every application and selects recipients by August 31. Recipients are notified individually by email, and the full list is posted on this website. Because of the volume of applications, we cannot give status updates before awards are announced.
