Who We Are

The United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Minority Coalition is a Coalition that works to ensure equal representation and opportunity within the UFCW union. It is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace by empowering underrepresented groups, such as workers of color and marginalized communities.

By focusing on education, awareness, and outreach, the UFCW Minority Coalition strives to improve conditions for workers across various sectors, such as retail, food processing, healthcare, and others.

In summary, the UFCW Minority Coalition is a dedicated group within the union that promotes social justice, equality, and the active involvement of minorities in leadership roles, aiming to create a more inclusive labor movement.

Annual Conference & Ball

Pre-Register Today!

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, UFCW leaders and members along with their family and friends will come together to celebrate the UFCW Minority Coalition Annual Ball and Educational Conference. You are cordially invited to take part in this very special event, which will take place at the Hilton Washington D.C. Capitol Hill, as we award outstanding individuals for their exceptional service and raise funds to promote Sickle Cell disease education and research.

The Ball will be the culminating event of a weekend dedicated to education, inspiration, and planning. The weekend will begin with a Welcome Cocktail Hour for all on Thursday, November 13th, followed by our Educational Conference on Friday, November 14th. We are excited to feature dynamic labor and community speakers from the AFL-CIO, UFCW, and other affiliates, as well as the NAACP.

In a moment defined by rising polarization, regressive legislation, and direct assaults on civil liberties – especially for marginalized communities – the stakes have never been higher. Against this backdrop we urgently call you to join our 2025 Educational Conference, themed Resist, Rise, and Reclaim: Fostering Unity and Action to Protect Minority Rights and Amplify Our Voices an essential gathering that can’t wait.

This year’s conference arrives at a pivotal time. Just months ago, the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW), one of North America’s largest labor unions, elected our brother, Milton Jones as their new International President, marking a historic moment and signaling renewed momentum for labor and civil rights advocacy. President Jones’s elevation underscores the power of steadfast dedication and collective action. Throughout the conference, you’ll encounter a mosaic of voices-thought leaders, educators, activists, and allies-coming together with determination and solidarity. Through compelling keynotes, high-level panels, and interactive workshops, we’ll equip ourselves with the strategies and connections necessary to resist oppression, galvanize unity, and reclaim our narrative

This is not just another event-it’s a call to action. In the face of threats both political and structural, your presence, your voice, and your conviction are indispensable. Let’s stand united, channel this moment, and build the power we need to protect our rights and amplify our collective voice-right now.
